Question 1

How do I write a brief for a motion graphics video?

Accepted Answer

A motion graphics brief answers six questions: the goal, the audience, the one key message, where it will be published and how long it runs, the tone and language, and which assets you will supply.

Question 2

What video formats and sizes do I need for each platform?

Accepted Answer

Produce three aspect ratios and you cover almost everything: 9:16 vertical for Reels, TikTok, Shorts and Stories, 1:1 square for feed posts, and 16:9 landscape for YouTube and websites. Deliver MP4 with H.264 video and AAC audio, add burned-in or platform captions, and keep text inside the safe zone so interface elements do not cover it.

Question 3

How long should my marketing video be?

Accepted Answer

Match the length to where it plays and what you want people to do. Most business videos are between 15 and 90 seconds, and the first three seconds matter more than the rest.

Question 4

Do I need a voice over, or is music enough?

Accepted Answer

If the video explains something, a voice earns its cost. If it shows something, music and on-screen text usually do the job, and they survive being watched on mute.

Question 5

What is the difference between 2D and 3D animation?

Accepted Answer

2D is faster, cheaper and better for explaining ideas. 3D is for showing a physical object from every side. Most business videos need 2D, and asking for 3D without a reason mostly buys delay.

Question 6

How long does a motion graphics project take?

Accepted Answer

A short explainer is usually a matter of two to four weeks. The animation is rarely what delays it. Waiting for script approval, brand files and feedback is.

Question 7

Can you animate my existing logo?

Accepted Answer

Almost always, if you have the logo as a vector file. An animated logo is a short sting used at the end of videos, and it is one of the cheapest pieces of brand motion you can own.

Question 8

What is a storyboard and why should I approve it first?

Accepted Answer

A storyboard is a series of simple frames with captions that shows what each scene will say and show before any animation starts. Approving it first is the cheapest moment to change the story.

Question 9

Where should I use my motion graphics video?

Accepted Answer

Put the video where people are already deciding: your home or landing page, product pages, social feeds, ads, email and sales presentations. Cut a shorter version for each place instead of using one file everywhere.

Question 10

What should I prepare to get an accurate motion graphics quote?

Accepted Answer

To get a quote you can trust, bring the goal, the audience, where the video will run, a rough length, two or three style references, and your brand files. The more of these you have, the less the price has to guess.
